5800 FS22 Project 1.1

Objectives: Prepare your computer for the remainder of the semester.


  • Install ROS2, Gazebo, and RVIZ on the system and OS of your choice.
  • Install Clearpath Turtlebot4 and/or Trossen LoCoBot simulation environments.
  • Write ROS2 code to make simulated robot drive in a 2m square.


  • Link to a video of the simulated robot moving in 2m square in Gazebo/RVIZ (50 points)
  • PDF documentation of steps followed to install on your system (or steps to attempt and what failed) (25 points)

If your system cannot run the software listed here, feel free to work in a group of up to 4 people to complete the assignment. Make sure you document what you did on YOUR SYSTEM and what the results were!
