Environmental noise has been the first topic I approached as a researcher and it is closely related to the activities I performed after my M.S. both as a research assistant and as a P. E.. The activities performed regard the study of noise pollution generated in the urban environment, the monitoring and the reduction of the Sound Pressure Levels (SPLs) due to transportation (e.g. road traffic, railways, etc.) and productive activities (e.g. industries, workshops, etc.), and the study of occupational noise with particular reference to impulse noise propagation within the middle and inner ear. Noise pollution has become a prominent feature of many urban areas. Thus, to limit emission sources and reducing noise exposure levels for communities, several efforts need to be done and have been the focus of my research.
