This course will provide a broad overview of the various fields and career options within Exercise Science. The course content will include a history of the profession, potential career and graduate studies options, and an introduction to basic fitness terminology and principles using ACSM guidelines. Students will have the opportunity to network with guest speakers for all different careers and explore various environments in which Exercise Physiologists work.
Exercise Physiology (EXER3050)
This course will teach how the body responds to and adapts to exercise while focusing on multiple topics including energy metabolism, circulation, respiration, skeletal muscle system, endocrine system, and immune system. This course is conjugated with the lab section (EXER3070) where students conduct multiple hands on experiments to maximize their learning of key concepts learned from the main lecture.
