Prof. Chen was invited by the REMADE Institute to teach a 2 hr short course Chemical Recycling of Plastic Waste 101. See Teaching for more info.

Prof. Chen serves as co-chairs for AIChE sessions of a) Catalytic Ppcycling of Plastic Waste, and b) Green Chemical Reaction Engineering for Sustainability. The sessions focus on research in the areas of chemical reaction engineering i) with non-conventional solvents, ii) for process intensification, iii) for the recycling of materials, and iv) related to non-conventional energy resources.
