Tingshu Hu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, in 2001. She was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Virginia and the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. In January 2005, she joined the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Lowell, MA, USA, where she is currently a professor. Her research interests include nonlinear systems theory, optimization, robust control theory, battery modeling and evaluation, control applications in power electronics and power management systems for nanogenerators.
