Hualiang (Bruce) Zhang is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Enginnering, University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML). Before he came to UML, he was a faculty member at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, TX.
Currently Dr. Zhang’s research interests are in: 1. RF / microwave /millimeter-wave circuit design including design of compact, broadband, and multi-band passive components; microwave power amplifiers; high-power and high performance microwave filters/multiplexers for satellite and base-station applications 2. metamaterials such as metasurfaces and their applications 3. nanophotonics including nanoantennas and plasmonic nanodevices 4. antenna designs such as phased array antennas, beam-forming networks, reconfigurable UWB antennas, electrically small antennas, and conformal antennas 5. graphene-based electro-optic devices 6. transformation optics 7. RF MEMS passive structures (designs, fabrications, and characterizations) 8. optimization methods especially their applications to RF / microwave circuit designs
NOTE: I am looking for highly self-motivated students to join my group (both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply)!!!
