My PhD student in Plastics Engineering, Mohammad Bagheri Kashani, recently published his research on biobased hydrogels for PFAS removal from tap water. His research focuses on crustacean-based biopolymers, which he uses to develop hydrogels capable of simultaneously and efficiently removing both short- and long-chain PFAS, even in the presence of co-contaminants such as ions.
