Infrastructure Resilience, Durability and Sustainability Lab
Welcome to Dr. Arghavan Louhghalam’s Infrastructure, Resilience, Durability, and Sustainability Analytics Lab at UMass Lowell.
Research Interests
Physics-based and data driven modeling for sustainable design and resilience analytics
Smart and real-time monitoring of road surface condition, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions
Risk and Reliability Assessment of High-Performance Structural Systems
Application of Data Mining and Machine Learning Techniques to Civil Engineering
Our research lies at interconnected areas of engineering and mechanics and data analytics. We focus on development of quantitative tools for understanding and design of sustainable and resilient infrastructure both at system and component level. We study fracture, fatigue, durability and resilience of high-performance civil structures subject to probabilistic environmental stressors and natural hazards.
We are always looking for highly motivated graduate and undergraduate research assistants with a background in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields. If you are interested, please email your up-to-date CV to Dr. Arghavan Louhghalam (arghavan_louhghalam@uml.edu).
