Teaching

After teaching for over two decades, I find that teaching is not just my vocation but a natural extension of my political and ethical commitments. Whether the course is tailored for high school students, first-year writers, English majors, professional writers, rhetoric or composition scholars, or interdisciplinary learners, my students are guaranteed a teacher committed to their educational pursuits and their future careers as citizens and scholars.

My university-level courses include:

First-Year Composition Courses  (FYC) such as Introduction to Academic Writing for International Students and First Year Writing Seminar

Professional and technical writing courses such as: Introduction to Professional Writing; Intermediate Professional Writing;    Introduction to Editing and Publishing; Professional and Business Writing; Online Business Writing; Visual Rhetoric

Advanced undergraduate courses like: Honors Special Topics Seminars; Junior Pro-seminar: English Studies Research Methodology; Rhetoric and Writing: The Power of Persuasion

Women’s and Gender Studies courses like: Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies; Writing about Women; Feminist Rhetorics; Transnational Feminisms; Gender and Literature: Utopia and Dystopia

Digital media courses like: Writing About Video Games; Digital Rhetorics and New Media Literacies; The Rhetoric of Games; Cybercultures: From the Personal to the Political

Moreover, I taught high school French for five years (Levels 1-5, including AP) in a public high school setting.
