Proctored testing

The UMass Lowell Department of Mathematical Sciences requires that proctored final exams be given in all online undergraduate mathematics classes. There are two options. You may either
  • Take the final exam online through ProctorU (there is $35 fee for this option).
  • Take the final exam at UMass Lowell or, On campus testing is not available this summer due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

What to bring to your exam

No matter how you take your exam, you will need a photo ID, and know the name, course number and section number of your course, and your instructor’s name. You should also know the requirements and restrictions as described in your course syllabus, such as time limit and whether or not any references or resources are permitted so that you can anticipate the instructions that your proctor will be given.

On-campus testing

On campus testing is not available this summer due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Online Testing/ProctorU

If you wish to have your exam proctored online, we are using ProctorU.com. If you select this option:
  1. You should sign up for a student account as soon as possible. ProctorU new account registration
  2. Your instructor may or may not have your class registered when you sign up, but you still will be able to get an account, check your equipment to see if it is ready for proctoring, and view a video showing how it works.
  3. Once your instructor has set up your exam, you will be notified and you can make an appointment to take the final exam.
