Captioning / Transcriptions

Instructional Technology Services can assist you in captioning digital materials. Recordings made with Echo360 or Zoom are captioned automatically with searchable transcriptions produced at the same time.

Both the captions and the transcripts can be edited as well. In Echo, you must find the recording and click on Edit Transcription. In Zoom, you can play the recording, pause the recording and find the transcription text to edit. Select it and edit away.

Echo360
Captions and transcriptions are created once the recording has finished. Captions and transcriptions are not immediately available, for it takes more time to produce either of those, dependent on the length of the recording and what else is being processed on the server at the time.

Once completed, they are posted to the recording.
