Sharing a Recording / Sharing Course Recordings

Once a recording has been made, there are several options for sharing that recording:

  • Share the entire semester’s recordings.
  • Share a specific recording
  • Embed a recording into Bb.

Share the entire slate of recordings (both completed and future recordings for the current semester) via Blackboard-

It is strongly recommended that you use the Blackboard integration tool within Bb for it makes it easy to share recordings, while maintaining control over the recordings. See the following:

Share a specific recording via Echo360-
Go to https://echo360.org and after logging into your Echo account, you see all of your recordings. Find that recording and hover over the thumbnail image and choose Share, then choose Links. Choose Add Link and then click on Copy. Paste that link into whatever you share with your students.

Note: This generates a public link, allowing anyone to view or share the recording. Should you want to control access, turn off the public link and only registered students can view that recording.

Embed a recording into Blackboard
You can embed a recording into a Bb page rather than providing another page for your students to then select the specific recording.

To do this, find the recording you want to embed in Echo and select Details, then choose Share and then Links. You then choose Embed.

Embed code is generated which can now be copied and then pasted into the HTML code for any page in your Bb course. This also acts as a security measure, only allowing registered students to view it for that course.

Note: You can choose the size of the embedded player, along with whether you want the video to be automatically played and/or automatically muted.
