My research interests can be classified into 3 major categories:
1) Methods to utilize and control localized electromagnetic radiation
2) The manipulation of free-space and guided waves from the microwave to the visible
3) The interaction of frequency-selective surfaces with material systems and electronics in unique geometries
The primary modes of investigation are focused on additive manufacturing, cleanroom fabrication techniques, and computer simulation models. These research categories feature multiple degrees of overlap, and solutions in the GHz region are often applicable to the THz and vis-IR regions. Specifically, this research group is aimed at developing electromagnetic / electronic interfaces which can take advantage of various material systems and geometries in order to create unique effects and be “designed-on-demand.”
